The Continuing Generational Saga…
Hopkins & Sons was founded by great-grandfather Clarence Hopkins and his two sons, Ralph and Harry Hopkins. Our story dates back to 1946, when the trio started with jobs like hauling and basement clean outs. When they received a contract to move appliances into an apartment complex in Elsmere, it was a turning point for the company. This initial project, awarded through a bid, propelled them into the moving business. Once Hopkins & Sons established their reputation through word of mouth, they were off and running.

Later, in the mid-1950s, Jim Hopkins (the youngest son of Clarence Hopkins) joined the firm and became an integral part of the company's success. With 77 years in business, today the Hopkins team is led by Mark Pitrizzi. Mark is the great-grandson of our founder, Clarence and the son of Harry's daughter, Cathy, who was the third generation to run the business.

A Legacy of Achievements
Over the years, Hopkins & Sons has achieved several important milestones.
• 1946 - We started our journey in the moving industry with one truck. Now, we have a fleet of 20 vehicles, including an air-ride fleet, trailers, flatbeds and more.
• 1960 - Affiliation with a national van line service. This strategic partnership allowed us to broaden our horizons and provide long-distance moving services with greater ease.
• 1999 - Acquisition of our first warehouse, solidifying our position as a comprehensive moving and storage solution provider.
• 2020 - Diversifying our business, we introduced Hopkins Onsite Portable Storage (H.O.P.S) – a flexible and portable storage solution.
• 2021 - Acquisition of our second warehouse in New Castle, DE
